STEAL THE CITY - THE TIME WE NEED EP Review

STEAL THE CITY are a hard rock band from the uk and just released their debut EP "THE TIME WE NEEDED" rifftastic is on it!

The album starts off with a nice kick and after a few minutes into the first song the evident pop punk influence reminding me of offspring & bowling for soup with elements of rock/nu metal greats like rage against the machine & limp bizkit, Steal the city create their own sound from all these influences and it rocks!

The amount of styles/sub-genres of metal and rock they squeeze in are experimental and welcomed, The hooks are VERY present throughout the songs which works against it a little IMO*** BUT they flow the chorus and verse riffs very well and this kind of structures are expected from this style of music, so ignore my grumps.

The album remains consistent in producing great track after great track and the momentum does not dip at any point, If anything the tracks systematically get more interesting as it goes on the riffs that are thrown in combined with the vocal style change ups continue keeping things nice and minty fresh.

Overview: Surprisingly heavy and catchy songs that take you on a nostalgia trip to the early 2000s that sound great enough to be as of yet unheard songs from their peers.
